Weird and Wacky Furniture

Straight Line Designs is a one-of-a-kind workshop that has been operating out of Vancouver, British Columbia for the past 25 years. In addition to installations, sculptures and private commissions, designer Judson Beaumont and his staff of eight full-time craftspeople have designed and constructed a variety of wacky cartoon-style furniture and projects for public institutions and children’s exhibitions throughout North America and abroad. Focused on quality and custom design, Judson’s studio stays far away from mass production and is as imaginative as children themselves.

I think a lot of this furniture is very creative and looks good however some do look slightly impractical.

Environmental Lamp

Designer Ed Chew takes a green step in the right direction with the TetraBox lamp, a light object made from discarded drink packets that would have otherwise ended up in landfills already packed to the brim. The design is achieved by unfolding the packets and refolding them into hexagonal and pentagonal sections that are then pieced together to form a geodesic sphere or any other desired shape. Here, the Epcot-like ball makes an attractive overhead light and casts an impressive web of shadows and shapes on the surrounding space.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1hMkRZ/thewondrous.com/amazingly-creative-drawing-vs-photography/

This wonderful work has done by a very talented Belgian painter, illustrator, portraitist, caricaturist and photographer Ben Heine. This creative artist was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He Studied graphic arts and sculpture and I also have a degree in journalism. Lets take a look at some of his awesome works that he calls “Drawing Vs Photography” or “Imagination Vs Reality”.

Reactive Wallpaper

Shi Yuan has created a way to turn normally passive things into something with a life of its own. Like this wallpaper that reacts to heat, the painting that react when you touch it, or the daily calendar that fades away during the day.
It is made using heat sensitive paint - and it is incredible.

Turn up the heat and your wallpaper starts to blossom. Here with the radiator is off...

Futuristic Homes

Oculus by Schoepfer Yachtsmay not be for sale yet but it is already in pre-production mode with naval architects on board. The anthropomorphism of this luxury floating home is of course intentional – the front deck like the gaping mouth of a gigantic sea creature and the sleek curves mimicking streamlined oceanic animals.

St. Lucia Hotel

This hotel is absolutely incredible! I think that the architecture is so well thought out and I like the infinity pools especially. The hotel is beautiful tropical oasis and its location makes it even better. Each room has only three walls and a private infinity pool with stunning panoramic views of the beautiful Caribbean. The bold architectural design – individual bridges leading to exceptional infinity pool sanctuaries and rugged stoned-faced columns reaching towards the sky – makes Jade Mountain one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences.

Creative Hotels

All of these hotels which I found on a website are all incredibly unique and creative. A lot of them are aesthetically good to look at but however slightly impractical, but I suppose it would be a good experience to visit any of them!
