Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore

This hotel is absolutely incredible! It is so majestic and aesthetically pleasing. It looks like a paradise. marina bay sands complex consists of three hotel towers connected by the magnificent sands skypark. 

designboom's editors had the great opportunity to stay and test out the newly opened hotel.

with over 2,500 rooms and suites, it is the biggest hotel in singapore. 

the sands skypark with pool is built at the height of 200 meters.

its lush, landscaped gardens are home to 250 trees and 650 plants and offer a total of 12,400 square meters of space - 

big enough to fit three football fields. hotel guests have the exclusive use of a 150-meter infinity swimming pool, 

the world’s largest outdoor pool at that height. 

Black Orchid Interiors

Black Orchid Interiors are another company which I saw at Grand Designs and I really like their work! The work is very vintage but has a contemporary feel to it which I think works really well.

Walney Fire Places

Walney Fire Places are another company which I found out about at Grand Designs and I like the idea of using eco-friendly biofuels to power a fireplace. The fireplace is easy to use and very appealing to many as it does not need a flue to work and has an contemporary look to it.

GLASSeco

When I visited Grand Designs Live I saw this company which I was interested in and this could be incorporated into the design of the church renovation. GLASSeco are a company which recycle different materials and use these to create kitchen countertops. Jam Jars, brake lights and green bottles have all been used to create beautiful countertops. Clear glass and crushed sea-shells were used in the images below which also work well.

Grand Designs Live

On Thursday the 5th May, I went to Grand Designs Live exhibition at the Excel in London. I Found the show really interesting and watched Kevin McCloud present people and companies with awards for their work. I found lots of new companies which I can include in my work such as "GLASSeco" who recycle glass and incorporate it into kitchen counters and also bathrooms. They look really creative and catch the light really well and I think it would look really effective especially in a bathroom when the sun is shining.
